Itinerary
Embark on an enriching 2-day journey to explore the splendid sights of Ephesus with the guidance of a dedicated private local guide, ensuring a family-friendly experience. This shore excursion also includes a visit to the remarkable Pergamon Ancient City.
Day 1 – Ephesus Ancient City
Kusadasi stands as a renowned port on the Aegean Sea, inviting you to partake in a time-honored tradition – a shore excursion tour to Ephesus Ancient City and the House of the Virgin Mary.
As your cruise ship docks at Kusadasi/Ephesus Port, your tour guide, bearing a sign with your name, will welcome you to commence your private tour.
Transportation via a private van will take you to Ephesus Ancient City, where your guide will immerse you in the historical significance and context of the region.
Ephesus stands as a marvel, preserving the essence of Roman life. Walk along its meticulously maintained marble streets, bordered by columns, temples, and fountains. Gaze upon captivating ancient structures, including the Temple of Hadrian, the resplendent Library of Celsius, and the Great Theater, boasting a capacity of 24,000. Throughout the day, your expert guide will provide insights into the remarkable sites you encounter.
Just beyond Ephesus lies the House of the Virgin Mary, believed by tradition to be the place where Mary resided following the Resurrection of Christ. This sacred site, recognized by the Vatican as Mary’s final resting place, is an integral part of our shore excursion. Should your preference differ, it can be omitted.
The 14th-century Isa Bey Mosque, established by the region’s earliest Muslim settlers, invites exploration of early Islamic architecture. The journey continues to St. John Basilica, where Apostle John found his eternal resting place. A visit to the Temple of Artemis (Diana), one of the Seven Wonders of the Ancient World, concludes the day’s explorations.
At tour’s end, your driver will return you to the cruise port, where you’ll bid farewell to the captivating world of Ephesus.
Day 2 – Pergamon Ancient City
Your second-day adventure begins with your tour guide welcoming you at Kusadasi Cruise Port, leading you to the mesmerizing Pergamon Ancient City.
Pergamon Theatre stands proudly atop the steepest hill, overlooking the Aegean Sea of Turkey. Explore the ancient city, a pinnacle of Aegean civilization, where remnants of an advanced and prosperous society await your discovery.
Witness Pergamon’s remarkable achievements, including its contribution to the invention of parchment. With your guide’s insightful commentary, gain a deeper understanding of the city’s rich history.
As the day’s exploration concludes, your driver will ensure your safe return to the cruise port, leaving you with lasting memories of the Pergamon journey.
